Do you know the Ombudsman? An ombudsman is an independent advocate, charged with representing the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints, unfairly rejected claims, or violations of the public’s rights.
So, should you make a claim with your insurance company, which is then rejected on grounds that you feel are unfair, you can submit your case to the Ombudsman, who will conduct an impartial investigation and make a judgement based on all of the available evidence. Ombudsman complaints are not only claim related, but can be about any issue regarding your short term insurance. A complaint will be included in the ‘overturned ‘category if any benefit for the insured could have been obtained in the mediation process.
Earlier in 2014, the Ombudsman released his report on how many claims were overturned by his office from the various insurers all over the country. As you can see from the chart below, King Price has one of the lowest overturn rates, with only about 20% of all of the complaints brought to the insurance Ombudsman being overturned.
Of course, our real goal is not to win at the Ombudsman, it’s to make sure that you never have a reason to complain at all!
Remember, to make sure that all of your claims with us are valid, you need to read and understand every clause in your insurance contract which we call the King Price Policy Document, and to make sure that all of your details are up to date at all times.
If there’s anything you don’t understand, or are not 100% sure about when it comes to your policy, you can always ask us.
We’re here to help you!
